Not to be snarky, but if the child is smart enough to be valedictorian, s/he is smart enough to write his/her own speech. Getting a professional to write it is just a wee bit dishonest. Unless, of course, said child plans to run for public office, in which case getting someone else to write his/her speech is merely practice for the future.

You don't need a professional speech writer. If your daughter made it to this point, trust in her abilities and give her the chance to shine. No one expects the work of a professional.
