I was 17 and bought a large home in flatbush there was no working. I mean I worked I babsat and what not but not enough to buy a house in flatbush I have a trust fund that was set up to be used for schooling or to buy homes. When I say I was 17 people obviously realize I couldnt have worked for all the money cause I only graduated from high school at 16 and then went to Israel for a year.
Im not saying I dont work I do work full time over 50 hours a week and have 2 little kids my dh also works more than I do what im saying is I didnt work for the down payment because I was only 17 and barely out of high school. Now I have my bachelors almost done my masters am starting law school and work full time but ppl still think im spoiled
we're both 34 with 2 kids and at this point we don't ever plan to buy a house. We both work and have money coming in, but every penny goes right back out---- we have $200,000 worth of debt to pay down--- why save for a down payment on a home?
and at this time my husband is out of work anyway.
we rent a GREAT house and have a wonderful landlord. I'd hate to be the go to gal for all the plumbing issues and anything that could go wrong.
