Hi,
Please can anyone tell me how good the public transport system from Toronto to Niagra falls is and how long it takes approximately.

I'm not too familiar with the public transport, but Toronto to Niagara takes roughtly an hour and a half. More if you want to cross to the NY border, but the Canadian side of the Falls are the nicest.

Two casual places to eat, a pizza place near to the falls and a burger joint near where Chabad has its week-day minyan. Check out the Chabad Niagara Falls web site for more info. I am not from there but we are planning a trip after Tisha B'Av so we checked it all out.

depending on traffic, I'd estimate the bus takes about 1.5- 2 hrs.
I think there are busses almost every hour- check coachcanada.com
