Thank you all.

He does go to playgroup and loves it BH. I’m more worried about Shabbos/Sunday, YT, or legal holidays, like today he didn’t have playgroup because of Labor Day.

We have couches blocking access to the lower shelves of the bookcases, but he has figured out how to climb up the back of the couch and start climbing the bookcases from the middle shelves. 😬 Sometimes he gets distracted by favorite seforim such as the otzar roshei teivos, Rav Schwab on Chumash, or random other books, but not reliably enough that I can trust that he won’t climb up the bookshelf all the way and risk falling c”v.

All kitchen cabinets are locked, although he is very persistent in trying to figure out how to open them and has succeeded a few times.

Im curious how long are you leaving him alone for?

Why cant you leave him in your playroom/ toy area for 5-10 minutes alone?

My entire first floor is open layout and Im ok with my craawling baby alone while Im in the bathroom.

Honestly, depends on how cooperative my stomach is being. Sometimes I’m able to get in and out in a few minutes and sometimes it takes longer.

We don’t have a play room… our living room/family room functions as a playroom, where we keep most of our seforim, etc. The living room connects to the kitchen, which has a very, very very wide doorway (no door), long enough that no baby gate would block it off. DS has discovered that he can pull kitchen chairs over to various surfaces and use them to climb up to do things like open the fridge, although he hasn’t yet figured out how to climb up on the counters BH.
