Are you supposed to ask for specific things, like parnasa, a refuah etc on Rosh Hashanah and/or Yom Kippur?

I know it's a yom tov and on shabbos we don't "ask for things" and especially this year 1 day is a shabbos. Are you allowed/supposed to daven for things?

Any torah anytime shiur explaining this?

Thanks

I think I heard that you don't ask specifically unless there's a tefila for it (like in u'nesaneh tokef, avinu malkeinu, a special yehi ratzon, etc)

But you can (and SHOULD) concentrate and have kavanos for all the things you want as you say words that relate to them.

There's a common ad I've seen every year that says during mussaf, when we say "Mi lo nifkad bayom hazeh" (or something like that, not looking it up now) that you should have kavanah for having children, as Sarah Imenu was "nifkad" on Rosh Hashana and gave birth to Yitzchok Avinu that year.

Kavanah is everything.

I just read in the sefer "Emunah Shleimah" that Rav Yisroel Salanter said a person should ask for every specific thing on RH even though the Zohar says not to, because in our generation a person who doesn't is showing that he's not afraid of Hashem and the din. Rav Elyashiv paskened that it is muttar to ask for personal requests on RH by mouth. The Sifsei Chaim in the name of the Ramchal says that on RH Hashem apportions to every person their tafkid in malchus Hashem and therefore with every request you should ask for it in context of your role in that (e.g. health so I can serve You better, etc.)

However... my husband said that he thinks it might be different when RH falls out on Shabbos... I'm curious to hear what the answer to that is.
