I made an Asian chicken soup and served it with dumplings 2 ways.
Some I steamed in the soup & some I fried on one side like a potsticker & served with a dipping sauce.
It came out really delicious.

We had leftover challa even before yom tov started. It inspired me to make challa kugel. I added sauteed shallots and mushrooms. It was great, if I may say so.

Sounds yum! Can you please post recipe?

My Kneidlach were the best thing I ate all yom tov. I had a lot of yummy food and my guest dubbed me the Kugel magician, it was a potato Kugel, but a good one. My meats came out great and salads too. But I just enjoy a good Kneidel you know?

DH is a chef, so he finds recipes, modifies them, and makes them his own. So I don't have a maqluba recipe to share.
But here is the apple rosettes recipe.

Apple Cinnamon Rosettes

dough:
2 c flour
3/4 c sugar
1 Tbl vanilla
1 tsp baking powder
4 oz. margarine-soft
2/3 c whipped topping-thawed

combine and mix all dough ingredients till smooth. roll into 8x10. (I roll it longer) smear 1 Tbl oil on dough. combine 1/2 c brown sugar with 1/2 tsp cinnamon. spread over dough. roll dough jelly roll style. (dough might be soft, so spray or use flour under to prevent sticking) cover, fridge till firm, at least an hour (or more).

apples:
5 granny smith apples, peeled and sliced
2 tsp lemon juice
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 c sugar

toss apples with ingredients and place into 9"deep pie plate. bake 45 minutes on 350.
slice dough into 1" slices and place slices flat on top apples. brush with egg. bake 40 minutes more. (sometimes it needs longer) serve warm with ice cream on the side.
