I'm not in Lakewood but we're having similar weather. YK was great. I vastly prefer a cold YK to a hot one. After the fast I made the first hot cocoa of the season. The blender for smoothies went back in the cabinet and the cocoa canister moved front and center. The fluffy comforters came out of storage, and the LLBean fall/winter catalog is generating cozy fantasies. However, I'm not looking forward to a rainy Sukkos. Watery soup is no fun.

By dinner time, we try to share good news of the day with the kids.
The biggest good news of the day was when I mentioned that tomorrow will be sunny. My kids let out such big whoops of joy!

I was more than happy to have rain today. Rain when there’s no school is really hard because then my kids are cooped up inside. Specially on YK when I needed them off my head. But today I was running errands and it was nice to breathe fresh air.

Still need to take out garbage and do last minute food shopping tonight. Hourly forecast keeps showing rain strong and steady.

I also actually enjoy the rain. It’s such a cozy feel from HaShem. I know many of you and your kids hate it, but look how much HaShem loves this. My friend heard from her neighbor just think of it this way, if this rain was snow, how we’d be inside for days on end. So please appreciate the rain. We don’t know what HaShem had in mind if He didn’t the rain. Maybe it’s something to think about.
