We are moving to Lakewood from an OOT community. We are chassidish but my girls are in Bais yaakov now. I want a school where the girls are more right wing no smart phones and strict dress code. I’m planning to apply to Bais leah, Mayan Bais yaakov, Bais shaindel and Oros. Where else should I consider?

Other ideas that have been mentioned are Meiras, Maon, Aderes, bnos Basya and bnos beis yaakov. I don’t have much info on these and not sure if they are a good fit.

Oros is more of a mainstream Bais yaakov with a few streimels sprinkled in. Bais Leah sounds like the right fit. Another option may be ateres, the high school of Bnos binah

They don’t speak Yiddish enough for Ateres because I think all the exams are in Yiddish. So really we are looking for a mainstream in town Bais yaakov.

Maon is very right wing, bnos bais yaakov is very not right wing doesn’t sound like a good fit. Oros is mainstream doesn’t fit in so well with the others. Meiras I think I heard is also very right wing. Aderes and bnos basya are not right wing enough either.

If you're looking for a RW yeshivish place, restrictive on technology, but only a sprinkling of Chassidishe/heimishe: Maon, Bais Shaindel, Meiras

Bais Leah and Maayan are both more Chassidishe/heimishe leaning with way more streimels and uphats.

Shiras Devorah has a nice heimishe/Hungarian group but also has a name of being very "in-towny".

Oros, Aderes, Machon Mattel (Bais Faigas school) are mainstream BY with a significant yeshivish, kollel, but also not.

Bais Kaila is a nice place, but I'm not sure how many really yeshivish/heimishe girls there are. But according to the people I know who send, it has a very nice OOT BY flavor.

It's already very left. It swung sharply the last two years. The new owners will stabilize it and hopefully it will go back to yeshivish, or at least middle-of-the-road.

There's actually quite a heimish contingent, but I don't think they are necessarily the no-smartphone-strict-dress-code type.

Also want to add - there are plenty of heimish/chassidish girls in Maon and Bais Shaindel, in addition to yeshivish. I'm not familiar enough with Meiras to comment on the diversity there, but I do have two super-yeshivish relatives in the current 9th grade.

Machon Matel Leah could be a good fit

Unless you have strong pull, don't expect to get into Meiras, Meon or Bais Shaindel (however you may be good for those schools)
