How long does a gel manicure last and look good?

My gels have generally lasted up to 2 weeks in good condition - if it's good quality it won't chip, but eventually it'll start to grow out (if you get a lighter color polish the new nail on the bottom won't be as noticeable) and after about 2 weeks it starts to peel

When done well they last up to three weeks without chipping although the regrowth looks awful. I have had some shocking ones, that started chipping and peeling after a few days. I guess it depends on who you go to and the products they use.
