Our school had a strict "No body contact" rule, so no, sharing beds was not an option. If you were found sitting on another girl's lap or lying in bed with someone else, it was grounds for expulsion.

If you went to my school, please quote me and wave. Hi

In camp (MBR) the rule in my days was absolutely “no physical contact”

Please forgive, but did "no body contact" include things like hugs? I can't imagine not being allowed to hug my friends

I think it’s asking for trouble. I would not be ok with it.

Is this something common when you/your daughters go on School Shabbos or School Shabbaton.
That girls are expected to share a double bed or sleep on the floor?
I have never had such an experience and I was pretty surprised to hear that someone else thought it was standard.

Yes, I remember that

I'm glad MBR has common sense. In my days in camp in Satmar, we were forced to sleep double up on 33 inch camp beds. We slept head to toe, not side by side. Bit it was gross ! We were 8th graders! I still can't understand it! I know they didn't have enough beds but still...

Back in the day, in bunk 5 we had some double uppers too. But the rule was only cousins or sisters. Dare if anyone else doubled up… and not only that, some of my bunk mates got into the shower together with their shvim kleid). Can't Believe It boy was this a scandal… I can still hear Mrs. F’s outrage LOL

(I was in RT before MBR’s time, though in younger grades. Not 8th grade. Can’t imagine 2 8th graders doubling up…)

I shared a queen bed with a friend , I was so sheltered I didn’t even know it was a safety issue, I just felt awkward since I like need my own bed. Was hard to fall asleep.
(To sleep on foot of the bed wouldn’t even occur to me, if I roll over I bump into her feet? No thanks)
I think everyone deserves their own personal space and that should include their own bed.
