What do you think of the name chulda

Would you name your child chulda?

Would your answer change if it was a grandparent/relative you knew/parent was close to

I have a hard time with the name because of the meaning, which is weasel. It's also so uncommon.

I would not. If I had the name in the family and had a really strong reason to use it (recent passing, wasn't used yet) I would try to find a name with a similar meaning or connection or use it as a middle name. I understand naming for a relative is important but I don't think it should be done if the child will have a very different name their whole life and possibly be bullied for it

I don't like the name.

I'm not close to anyone in my family, so wouldn't use it. If, theoretically, I had a family member I really really really loved, who passed, then I imagine I would, but otherwise no.

It is really unfortunate that as one of the seven neviot, the name Chuldah means weasel.
I just don't think I could do that to my child.

Honestly? I don't like the name. I could see it be way more palatable with another name added if you want to name after a beloved grandparent. Childa Esther?

No. Especially if that’s the meaning of it. Please don’t do it to your child.

It’s difficult isn’t it? We love who Chulda was in Tanach and DH wants to use the name. We don’t have any relatives with it, but it we did I would only consider it as a second name.
