Yes 3 of my kids had it not too long ago. One after the other literally. Took a full week to recover each. 4/5 days of fever and symptoms very similar to the flu. 2 of my kids were swabbed and tested positive for adenovirus. Was not easy at all.

Adenovirus is the most typical virus, usually when a child has fever with cold symptoms it’s adenovirus and it’s nothing to worry about

There is nothing to worry about but I did find that they felt so much more miserable than with a typical cold or fever. They had horrible sinus pressure too.

Makes sense. They refused food or drink. The only thing I was able to bribe them with was freeze pops.

The current strain going around is brutal
It cam last up to 8 days according to my kids pediatrician. My kids were home for a full week each + each. They all took turns. It was horrible. Especially the baby. She was only 17 months and couldn't even verbalize what was bothering her. It was such a nebach on her.
Also, I found that I needed to build up their bodies afterwards. They were so depleted. Good multi/immune support and probiotics really helped once they started feeling better.

It’s a virus that unfortunately goes around every winter… just once upon a time we didn’t do nasal swabs every time a kiddo was sick… it can cause high fevers though… so for that I always do Motrin, bath, if fever is still high tylenol ( an hour or two after the Motrin- whatever your doctor says) and then once the fever isn’t high anymore it’s drink drink drink drink drink and drink… it’s terrible but definitely manageable…
