I am currently cleaning out mine and my husbands closets; and trying to get rid of anything we haven't worn in the past year.
I really don't want to give it to just any g'mach since the clothing is in great condition, I want it to get used. Most of my clothing I pass on to my nieces but I still have things that don't fit them - and all my husbands stuff that doesn't fit him.

Any suggestions what I can do with the clothing? Do you know people who can use it - or a real honest organization; not just a dumping ground?

I posted on a thread before if anyone was interested in picking the clothing up {I live in Flatbush} yet no one responded.

Please give me some suggestions...I have quiet a lot of stuff I need to get rid of.

I found a lady who gives it directly to poor poeple. I gave her four good bags last year.

I fond a gemach that helps out kallahs who can't afford clothing for sheva brachot. I gave her a ton of clothing that she passed on. Very Happy

I always give to a gemach. There are people out there who need what we can't use anymore. Why should they just get shmattas? If things are in great condition - they will feel better about what they are wearing! I imagine some Ethiopian baby wearing my kid's American discards... makes me feel good.

LOL... We just adopted 2 children from Ethiopia, so there are two Ethiopian babes wearing my daughter's and son's old clothes. Smile
