My husband and I are finally getting the vacation we need. We are going to be staying in boca raton fl. We plan on buying breakfast at the grocery store but then getting lunch and dinner from some restaurant type places. Does anyone know any resources or anything on where and what type of restaurants are in this area? Anything would be helpful.

The grocery store is the Kosher Marketplace in a mall on Powerline Rd and there is a pretty decent pizza/dairy place called Jon's right across the strip in the same mall. For other info, see this link:

there is a restaurant on lyons road called orchid gardens which is chinese. it's fleishig, the last time I checked they used rubashkin. they might even use shor habor.

there is a cholov yisroel pizza place on palmetto park road called jon's. I even have their phone number! 561-338-0008.

I know there are other places, israeli pita grills and the like, but their names aren't coming to me. you can always pm me if I can be of more help. btw if you have kids, make sure to check out sugarsand park!

have fun!

Here's a list for the entire Palm Beach County - in case you're heading north to sightsee or whatever.

For fleishig, I'd highly recommend Grill Time. It's pricey but good. The Chinese place, Orchids Garden, is best used for takeout because they really give incredible portions for takeout for the price. Also because if you eat there, you need to make sure to have enough cash on you to tip - the owner does not allow putting tips on credit cards.

For milchig, Eilat Cafe is pretty good - depending on what waiter you get. It's a pasta/fish place that also does things like pizza. Fifth Avenue Bakery is open for breakfast and lunch and is pretty good for a light lunch - salads and baguette sandwiches and the like.

If you are going down into Broward (Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, etc., I can also give you the kosher list there as well).

Oh, also, the brs link posted earlier is an older link that is not updated. Their new site is here.

Enjoy your vacation!

There is a also a very upscale meat rest. in Boca called Pomegranate. FYI the Kosher Marketplace has a great takeout department if you ever want to buy dinner. My cousin is the Mashigiach there! Really great Hechsher. You're also not far from Hollywood-15 minutes- and 30 minutes from Fort Lauderdale, and 45 from North Miami. Oh I wish I could be going there!

Actually, Pomegranate shut down about 3 or 4 months ago.

I'll second grill time. Eilat is decent, but it used to be amazing. (At least in the summer it isn't that crowded) We always like Falafel Armon too.

Does Albertson's still have takeout?

You're right, Eilat used to be amazing under the original ownership. In the last couple of years, it's been bought and sold twice. We had basically given it up for dead when the new owners bought it, but it appears to be slowly turning back around.

Yep - Albertson's is still around - though who knows for how much longer. They keep crying poor. So there are three take-outs in the Boca area now - Albertson's, Kosher Marketplace, and Boca Pita Express just opened one as well (though never having been there I can't vouch for it).
