I personally don't agree with kollel learning unless you can support your family without outside help from in-laws and parents unless they are very wealthy and it wouldn't be a tircha. I suppose I wouldn't be welcomed in this forum then??? Confused How can anyone justify their learning otherwise...

Anyone whose husband is currently in kollel is welcome on our forum, even if they don't agree with long-term learning or learners getting family/government support. There are many different types of kollel families out there and they are all welcome, as long as they are respectful of those posters who do learn long-term or do get support.

Just wanted to say that I based the choices in this poll on the existing subforums, I did not think of them on my own.

We are not in Kollel, but are thinking of starting one. Does that count?

As I said on the other thread, my DH is not officially in kollel (there is no Lubavitch kollel in my community, and most Lubavitch kollels don't let people stay more than two years), but spends almost the entire day learning, teaching, or writing sefarim.

We're Lubavitch

I hope you don't mind my answering the poll even though my dh left kollel a little less than a year ago.
Just thought it would help to get a representative sample.
We are Lubavitch. Dh was in kollel for five years. But it was not a Lubavitch kollel, it was a mixed (but mainly Litvish) kollel. He was the only Lubavitcher.

Atali...I won't ask to join the forum since dh is no longer in kollel..
