If I’m making a soup with a cup of red wine is that bad to eat if I’m pregnant ? Should I skip the wine?

It's fine, a drop of alcohol shouldn't be an issue, and some of it will cook off as well.

Are you eating the whole soup yourself? Some of the alcohol will cook out, depending how long you cook it.

Right, so let's say the soup serves 8. You will have 1 oz of wine. Wine is not so high alcohol and some of the alcohol will have cooked off.

It's the equivalent of having a sip of kiddush.

While pregnant and having contractions preterm, my Dr. told me to drink a cup of wine every time the contractions start getting stronger. I now have a super energetic child who we like to joke is drunk from all the wine I had to drink.
Alcohol while pregnant will not harm you or the baby unless done excessively.
A cup of wine in a soup will do nothing to you- especially since the alcohol will be cooked out.

If you add the alcohol at the beginning andnthen cook your soup, most of the alcohol should cook out.

I think we yiddishe mamas are totally overdoing it.

We're too cautious. The doctors do not mean this when they say reduced alcohol consumption nor do they mean half a cup of kiddush wine.

at least that's what they've told me.
