Can you specify more? Does a kugel for 7.99 for shabbos count?

I grew up in Brooklyn, I live in a city with available food.
It’s just not something I do.
If I don’t want to make supper one day, I just serve oatmeal or frozen pizza.

Often enough.
May I ask why you're asking?

Does “takeout” include pizza?

Depends on how I’m feeling (pregnant rn and lower energy). Doesn’t happen every month but we usually get pizza or something for Rosh Chodesh.

Does an ice coffee count as takeout?

For my whole family basically never. But for my husband maybe one or two times a month. It’s easier for me to make quick meals my kids will eat (and harder to justify the expense of take out for my entire family vs one person).

Oh gosh, if iced coffee counts I need to change my vote.

For my whole family an occasional pizza.

For my self I get breakfast or lunch at work some days. Its way cheaper to buy for one vs seven.

I am very frugal on myself and barely order but on early motzei shbs I like to get food and here and there the rest of the year I make a kid friendly supper even though I know my dh won't touch it with the intention that he'll get himself food that night. Also special occasions I order like if dh is away for a few days I'll order supper for the whole family or sometimes for a birthday...

That would be occasionally...

Until I got sick it was rarely/never. While I was getting chesed meals the same. Bh I’m recovering slowly so it’s on an as needed basis. Children whose mother is/has been sick need different things than children whose mother is healthy and whole. Now its whenever it’s needed

Why would pizza be excluded?

Yes I by mistake voted once a week because I buy a fair amount of ready cooked Shabbos food every week. Very rarely for supper. I would put occasionally. Usually for my dh or ds's siyumim. Or for a birthday, or if we've just come back from vacation, and Uber eats has good offers on.

dh buys that kind of food for himself sometimes. I never do. we get convenience stuff on sale at the grocery store like frozen pizza. it's not takeout but it's easy.

No an iced coffee isn't supper.

Maybe she means frozen pizza? But that's not take out.

I voted never but that's because I'm considering it as supper that I'm trying to go easy on.
There have been a few times a year I'll order pizza for a special occasion, and in my city that only happens to be available at supper time by special order. It's not to avoid making supper...

Takeout has always meant prepared food for Shabbos and that style rather than restaurant food. Like Meal Mart, etc. Going out to eat or ordering in from a restaurant was not the same thing and a much bigger treat.
