Does anyone have a good try-and-true child reminder device for the car? Something that doesn't require an app and budget friendly

I've heard people take off a shoe and put it on the car seat.

I was gonna say that but I wasn’t sure if it’s safe to drive with one shoe.

A lot safer than leaving a child in the car, r"l. May Hashem watch over all His children.

I always put my purse in the back seat, even when I'm driving alone for this reason.

I have this and it reminds me every time I turn off my car to check the backseat. It uses different words and voices so I don’t get too used to hearing it. I make it a habit to turn around and check my car every time I hear the reminder.

I have taken off my left shoe and put it in the backseat. I drive with my right but not going to leave the car without one shoe!

This is super easy especially when you are a tired parent on autopilot, works in any car and for both mom and dad.

Super important when the kid is nonverbal or a long car ride where bigger kids may fall asleep.

The shoe trick and bracelet thing require the parent to do a thing in the first place and it is too easy to forget, especially if you're in a rush and have your hands full. It's a fine idea but the technology exists to have less reliance on our limited brains.

Of course we also need to try not to rely on the tech either so our brains are still working if the tech fails. But I'd like to cover as many bases as possible .

There was another thread like this about a year ago as well, consider searching for it if you need more ideas.

I have this one https://www.amazon.com/-/es/gp.....ss_tl
It's amazing - easy to install, no wifi needed. Basically it beeps when you unbuckle your seat belt till you take the baby out (you put a sensor in the car seat). I like it better then a voice one (although I'm sure that's good to) bec I'm nervous I'll just get used to it.... with this one it's just activated when you have a baby in the car seat.

Does it wake the baby up if the baby is sleeping

What I started doing this summer to help me, is to train myself to open the back doors every time I leave the car, to create a habit - even if I know my kids are not in the car. When we get in the habit of doing something we don't think about it, just do it.
I hope it works.

If something goes or txt off every time you get out of the car don’t you become immune to it. Like if someone only drives their kid once a week and every time gets s txt it just becomes ignored by habit.
