5-6 pre 1a aged. Once they see the big boys in the park wearing a white shirt or if they have big brothers, they want to wear one too.

I voted five to six but that's only because it's my younger boys and they like to copy their older brothers but when my older sons were little it was more 7-8. By that age all the kids in the neighborhood are wearing white shirts on shabbos, so they were just stand out.

I wanted to hold out for as long as possible, thinking that they will have years and years iyH of wearing white shirts, but by the time ds2 was 4-5, he insisted on only wearing white shirts like a Tatty/ big boy.

Plain white shirts or white/cream shirts with designs?
DS is 5 and really wants white shirt, he was happy to wear ones with design or colored bib matching the shorts this summer.
In the winter I let him wear a white shirt under his sweater, made him soo happy.
I'm not sure what age we will go to just plain white shirts.

My youngest started at around 3 because he wanted to be like his big brothers. Older ones around 6 or so. I find it easier just to put white shirt and leggings than get a specific outfit, so I'm happy to start early. And my youngest also wears white shirts for Rosh Chodesh too so I just buy lots of shirts.

My 1 year old wears a white polo on Shabbos because it’s cheap and neat looking and I can bleach it. I don’t like the knit outfit look once they’re walking.

I don't have a rule. It all depends on the child.
Some of my kids like the knit feel and they wear a sweater without the shirt. It's up to them.

White shirts are so mature, get dirty, and hard to care for. In the summer I do a nice light colored thin cotton shirt without a color and for winter a cotton shabbos sweater without a shirt. at 8-9 I start with white shirt every shabbos.

I only have 1 boy.
The boys in the shul here wear white as young as 3. But there are 8-9 year olds who dont.
I buy a nice shirt like with edging, Chinese collar, level style neck... something with style.
Asks match a pants.
Fit the summer he has a medium blue shorts, Lil legs blk pant/leggings for the in between weather.
And beige and white stripes shorts.
Each with their own matching white shirt.
So he has 3 sets.
Plus an outfit.
2 of them were from last year or halfway from last season.
