I recently was at a simcha and saw two young women wearing really long diamond look necklaces, as in a short chain a little below the neck and a long chain down to the pupik.
Are people buying these in real? Lab? CZ? I can't imagine what that would cost in real. And they were not very small stones.
(NOT that I am contemplating buying one. A CZ tennis necklace for our last simcha was quite enough elegance for me.)

I have not seen that at all! I do see a lot of tennis necklaces and bar Diamond necklaces but all a much shorter length

I saw long diamond necklaces probably about 5-7 years ago. The people I saw it on definitely had real ones. Haven't seen them recently.
I tried one on myself but I don't carry that length well. Cost was upward of 15k (back then) depending on stone size etc.

My sibling has a gorgeous one. Not lab grown real diamonds. Her husband gifted it to her after going through a difficult medical situation.

Even lab grown is about 20k. It's like 20 carats of diamonds. The cost of the gold alone would be a fortune. Are you sure it wasn't gold plated with moisonnite?

Can I just say…Gd bless anyone me who can afford such a necklace and decides to wear it. But there are so many good fakes that unless you’re buying it as a future heirloom, why not just go for a fake and get all the dazzle?
