Which banks with locations in NY or NJ (I prefer that to online banks, unless difference in rate is huge) are offering best CD rates for about a 1 yr term?

I always preferred Money Market accts to CDs because funds are accessable.

But talk is that rates will be dropping drastically very soon, so I should probably be transferring to CDs.

Any thoughts/advice?

Do a Google search. The rates will depend on length of time and amount you want to invest.
Check bankrate.com and/or forbes.com.

Don't rule out online banks. They might be offering better rates than what you can find locally.

Yes, their Savings rates were amazing but their CD rates arent that amazing.

From what I see online, Capital One has a 12 month CD at 4.50% APY. I think the Santander rate for a 1 yr CD may be higher.

We did one a year ago with First central savings bank in queens. They were offering 5.15 then which was better than Chase. Now their 1 year CD is down to 4.30. I guess they figure that the fed will lower interest rates soon.
