Weekday, for school. Something warm for the winter.

Does he need a Shabbos coat too? He's never had one yet.

Boys usually wear a solid color like black... With fur or colored stitching maybe

Shabbos coat is good to have if he goes to shul or to a simcha but definitely not needed

I rarely see a 5 year old with a Shabbos coat in my yeshivish community.
I bought this for my 4 year old last year it was recommended here, he's wearing it again this year. Runs pretty true to size maybe a drop small.

Landsend expedition parka. They don't call it navy but whatever color is similar to navy.
A coat us the most essential Garment your child will wear please buy reputable warm and durable.
Waterproof is great must for little guys

I’ve had luck with-
Mayoral
Appaman
Cozy coop
Hugo boss
Colors- navy, green or black
No Shabbos coat at that age needed.

The Ali express one above has fur inside. It's so nice and warm.

How’s the quality? I had zipper issues with Ali coats in the past.

The one I had/have has been perfect. There was a lose thread at one point getting caught in the zip a bit but otherwise it's been great. The zipper is strong. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality.

I personally wouldn't but maybe the black one. I'd try to find a gold metallic coat, or a shiny cerise pink one! I like girly things on girls though so it might just be me.

The zipper sometimes gets caught on the material but it comes right off.
