I use this one: (amounts depend on how much salmon you are prepping)
ketchup
strawberry jam
juice of one lime
honey
dash of salt and pepper
minced garlic
Bake salmon at 350, with sauce spread on top, uncovered, for 45 minutes.

Yes the BY garlic one. Or anything with breadcrumbs.
I mixed mayo with a little bit of soy sauce, mustard and ketchup and dipped in spiced breadcrumbs. Was delicious.

I know there is a tradition about this, but really this just pertains to preserved fish like herring, salt fish, and the like.
It's all about how much salt you're putting on the fish when you're preparing it because these days we don't first preserve our fish, we BH have refrigerators. The fish fillets I buy are as bland as raw chicken (less, because we don't kasher it with salt) and flavor and salt added is all up to me as the cook.
