I got my first pair of glasses when I was 10. I got my first pair of lenses when I was 14 for a family wedding. After that I would not leave my house in glasses. I am now 50 and for the last 3 or 4 years I wear mainly glasses. Since I have needed a bi focal prescription, I just have not been able to get my lense prescription right and they have become very uncomfortable and I can't read in them which makes wearing them at work super difficult. I dont like how I look in glasses, but at this point in my life I don't really have a choice. I sometimes still put on lenses for an extra special occasion but they usually start bothering me after a few hours.

Glasses only since age 5. I had a brief stint at around 12 trying contacts. I tried a few different kinds plus different solutions, and just couldn't get comfortable with them. I also never really got comfortable with sticking a finger in my eye. So I gave up and have stuck with glasses ever since.

I got the Murphy but exchanged it to the Otis.
The Murphy is a bit too big for my face.
ETA. I did wear the Murphy for two weeks. Ear hooks they sell didn’t fit it and silicone nose pieces didn’t work either.

I remember wanting glasses so badly when I was in preschool and first grade. My mother had glasses, and I was jealous. I used to fantasize about what type of glasses I would get if I ever got them, what I would do with them when I slept, etc.
Then, in second grade, I actually did get glasses and I loved them!
I still enjoy wearing glasses. I wore only glasses until the age of 20. At that age, I got blue contact lenses and would switch off, sometimes wearing glasses and sometimes wearing contact lenses.
A few years later, they stopped making blue lenses in my prescription , and I wasn't interested in plain lenses, so I went back to only wearing glasses. I've been wearing only glasses for about 20 years now - although, now that I'm no longer young , I usually remove my glasses for reading. I'm chilling with my phone right now, and my glasses are .... somewhere.
I'll look for them when I get up.

I never (knew I) needed glasses until I was in my upper 20s. I was diagnosed with farsightedness and astigmatism. The astigmatism was significant enough that I still wonder why it wasn't caught earlier.
I'm self conscious wearing glasses since the plus lens is unattractive and also way less common than the lens for nearsightedness.
Also I'm embarrassed to suddenly start wearing glasses when I never wore it before.

It's very interesting that's 63% answered wearing glasses,
In my community only about 10-15% merried women wears glasses,
I always wanted to wear glasses daily, but I'm ashamed it will make me unattractive.

Calling all the"I should but dont"'s, If its a financial burden, there are organizations that can help. But please wear glasses if you need them. Or lenses... dont ruin your eyes.
