For the past few days he's cricketing away here!! I live in Brooklyn! What is it is doing here?
Any ideas how to get rid of it? A noise machine won't help I need total silence when I sleep

I think you meant a cricket, right?  We've had those. Supposedly there are natural things you could put out that they hate (chili in water with dish soap? Lemon juice?) but I've never tried
