My agency gave me a payment plan. It's still $400 a month but better than what it would be.

They can help your child get Medicaid or Medicaid waiver and then push for Medicaid to reimburse for the monthly premium for the secondary insurance. If your child has a diagnosis (which I assume yes as you are paying for aba through insurance) then your child is entitled to have Medicaid, regardless of your finances. Give them a call and they will hopefully be able to help you

Where I am (Brooklyn) most absolutely do. They help you find the best plan, give you the Medicaid reimbursement number, help set up a payment plan or even try to help you get access to funding for dire situations etc but do not cover the cost as that is a huge red flag for legalities

Where I am you can’t get Medicaid unless you’re under the income limit. I have a severely SN kid and she can’t be on Medicaid until she’s 18

They officially charge the copay, they just can't force you to pay. They don't report it to credit bureaus.

I would tell the school I’m not paying it. Half the time the schools are pushing it unnecessarily

Is there no Medicaid waiver where you live?
That makes the child eligible for Medicaid regardless of income.

This isn't in all states. Just because one has an ASD diagnosis does not mean that they automatically get medicaid... can you please explain more or share some info?
My kid has ASD and ADHD. We get zip from our very blue state because services are only for ASD and only very severe cases. My kid isn't "impacted enough" because very smart and overcompensates but honestly struggles with daily functioning.

What number is that for? It's not the medicaid office number.

I pay for private. I have a SN child with medical issues and I still can’t get Medicaid. Counting down until she’s 18 and can get it.
