I had this issue with my 7 year old for about 3 months even after buying 18k earrings and it still wouldn't go away. I would take out earring let it heal and put it back in and it would start again. Until I realized that it's irritation and not infection. So I used a steroid cream that would work for exzcema and in 4 days it was gone. I used the cream with the earring in the ear. Once the skin barrier was healed it never happened again.
