It is very academic and can be difficult to get in depending on family type and school you're coming from.
The type that goes there is generally more yeshivish but there is a jappy undertone. Like girls are into name brands, latest trends

For what I’ve heard the work is hard, high standards for learning and grades.

I went there and graduated a few years ago. Very academic. Really really solid student body. Most girls are from Flatbush, some from Boro Park. (A couple from five towns, Kew Gardens and the lower east side as well)

The elementary schools most girls came from were Drav Meir elementary, BY boro park and BY 18th ave.

The kodesh subjects are pretty hard/advanced. Most girls work very hard. There’s a “third track” where non academic girls can opt out of some classes and get extra help during school time.

I graduated from there a few years ago, the level of learning is very difficult. Even for the “smartest” girls.
If you’re very yeshivish, very brainy, enjoy studying the whole weekend and not looking for fun extra curricular activities and trips then BYDM is the place for you.
