Look I'm in israel, so maybe this isnt relevent, but even if I lived in the states. I would give to schools last.

I have family who need tzedakka. Then people in my community that my rav who I have a relationship with and trust is collecting for. The next line would yeshivos that my husbands studied in and I have hakaras hatov to.

We are just middle class people, we don't have endless funds. I don't like giving to institutions where I don't know where the money is going or how its being used.
