My 5 year old has a new necklace that she loves and she wears all the time. Is it unsafe to wear to sleep? I panicked tonight and took it off her - but not sure if I’m just being crazy - or there is validity to my concern .

It's very dangerous. I would not allow it.

It should be taken off at night. Even if the strangulation risk seems remote - freak accidents have happened. Better safe than sorry. I never let my kids wear necklaces, bracelets, belts or any other stringy things at night.

I’m so nervous now. I let her wear it not realizing. I took it off while she was sleeping - it looked like it was getting tangly . She was so tired , she was hard to wake up - but I think it was just because she was so exhausted. Freaking out!
