do I put maternity leave time into a resume? not just the three months. I am not on extended maternity leave, so it will be about 8 months of my life when I am done.

do I also put why I am no longer at a specific job? for example if the company ran out of money and that was why I am no longer there?

I wouldn't do that. It makes you sound defensive. My resume is full of diff. short term jobs (I did them in the summer to get experience) where I didn't explain why. I didn't have a problem getting jobs because of this afaik and if they want to know why you left they'll ask you in the interview.
