It's still available. Not precisely "in season" so it may not be the tastiest. But in any case, it's unlikely that the melons being sold in NYC are locally grown and dependent on the NY season . Most produce sold in NY comes from California, South America and even Canada. Even the apples come mostly from Washington State, which is bizarre because NY is an apple-growing state. NYC is called The Big Apple, after all, not the Big Watermelon.
