I am divorced and in my agreement my ex husband has to pay full tuition for the boys and we split the girls 50/50. This was in beis din.

Did your ex try to fight this or was it a non negotiable according to BD?

Exactly. My parents got divorced and everything in the agreement flew out the window when my father started working off the books, claimed poverty and then eventually left the country.

Interesting to hear so many saying 50/50. Pretty sure where I come from the default is that it's split according to the proportion of the parents' income (for overly simplified example, if he earns 40k and she earns 60k then he pays 40% and she pays 60%.... But with a lot more detailed math)

In reality there are often a lot of other factors being negotiated together so the rules don't always get followed. But the rules aren't necessarily 50-50 in the first place.
