I have mostly hardwood and vinyl in my house which I mop clean.
Have 2 rooms with carpet. Can anyone recommend an inexpensive vacuum that will be effective for these 2 rooms?

Anything Shark. Like the navigator liftaway....they are the best, amazing suction and not expensive.

Yup! That will work well on both floors in my experience.
