I’m trying so hard to get my baby to nap in the crib. He sleeps in the crib at night but got really stuck on sleeping in the doona during the day. He has Torticollis and this definitely doesn’t help. He’s five Months old. If he naps in the crib , he wakes up very quickly. Any tips?

Bumping this up.
We’ve been getting him to nap in the crib somewhat but he sleeps so minimally.
Yesterday he slept an hour in the crib which was good but he did wake up midway and cry and then go back.
In the afternoon he slept only 20 minutes. So that’s a total of 1 hr 20 minutes of napping for a five month old!
Any suggestions?

you have other kind of carriage with a bassinet? I would do once he falls to sleep in the doona I would transfer him into the bed.. this what I did if he's awake little pat him on his back to fall back to sleep.... my baby had torticollis too.. bh its gone we treated with extra stretching the muscle..

Before 6-8 months it’s normal for babies to take short 30 min or so naps. Does he contact nap? Or baby wear? Instead of the doona.

I’m not home , he’s home with a nanny. Contact napping isn’t rlly great for his neck either.
Even in the doona he doesn’t always nap well.
When do they start taking longer naps?
And even with short naps, he should be taking a bunch. How does he manage with so little daytime sleep.

Do you sleep train your babies for naps at 6 months. I’m not sure I’m ready for that since he’s still in my bedroom. Don’t have anywhere else to put him at the moment.

I didn’t sleep train.. naps just naturally lengthened. You can also play around with wake windows make sure baby is tired enough etc.
