when my babies were little I made a lot more than that at home as a sales director. Part time hobby level sales can do $300 a week without sending out your baby. Direct sales or FBA even though FBA has a large learning curve. People are scared of sales but it's fun and flexible.

do you have specific questions? I can talk about my past career all day long (I still do it VERY part time as a hobby) but I don't know what you want me to elaborate exactly.

What did you sell? On what platform? How big was the risk?

skin care and color cosmetics. Mostly in person but I do also have a website. I started my inventory in 2000 at $600 and built it up to $8000 or so over the years (when I led a team of 70 + salespeople I needed a good stock) and now that it's just a hobby for me again, my inventory is back down to about $3000---- I keep in stock what sells well for me over and over, plus a stash of past limited edition and discontinued items that I can discount and have as cash and carry. I buy wholesale from distribution center and sell retail.

EVERYONE has skin. The product goes down the drain. Reorders from loyal clients come again and again. That's why I never wanted to sell luxury one time purchases---- I buy expensive jewelry...... ONCE. But I never re-order the same piece. I might go back to the same company, but I'm not super loyal as jewelry is more of a luxury item (for me anyway).

Food is another thing that EVERYONE needs. What does EVERYONE need where you can go into business for low cost (preferably with an infastructure already in place).?
