He always was a drooler but now he’s putting his hands in his mouth, his yarmulka is drenched by the end of the day. It’s obviously a sensory thing but what can I do to help him stop? I tried the chewy necklace but he doesn’t keep it on so it doesn’t help unless I’m actually handing it to him.

Were there any big changes? Mouthing can be self soothing so it could be he is seeking to comfort himself. Maybe he is at a new morah and still adjusting or some other change, could possibly cause more immature self-soothing behaviors to come back or increase

Maybe he's growing in a molar?
That can be very painful.

He may have developed reflux. Sounds like my kids when they have reflux flare ups.

Mine started biting his shirt and it was because he was getting time out beyond reasonable. It was very sad to watch my toddler like that. Please ask the morah if he is getting too much time out or if someone in class is bothering your child.

My 7 year old started mouthing things about a year ago. (no drooling) We started OT last summer and we were given some exercises. Fast forward about 6 months and she rarely mouths things anymore.
I don't know what triggered it at 6-7, but bh OT really helped.
