My son's playgroup called. He was working himself up coughing, and kvetching "mommy", not calming from his bottle, or blanket.
She asked me to pick him up. As soon as he was with me, this behavior stopped. He was totally fine at home, and the first few weeks of playgroup until now.

Anyone familiar with this behavior, and what we can do to cure it?

I was aware he has a cold. Took him to Dr. =all good.)

I've had this with my school age daughter a few weeks ago and she was actually coming down with something. as soon as I picked her up she acted better because she probably felt safer and calmer but later in the afternoon she got a fever.

Yeah it’s normal I’ve had it in the past. As others mentioned the kid may still feel run-down but it’s easier for him at home than at playgroup.

Wait and see what happens tomorrow before worrying about it. My daughter had a day like this last year. She had also been getting over a cold. According to school rules she was OK to be back but she just wasn’t feeling up to being there I guess.
The next day she back to her regular self at school.

He was like this yesterday and today.
I guess I'll keep him home tomorrow.

Sounds like normal behavior. He feels more comfortable and safe in your presence. Feel good little one!
