They came a lot later than the expected delivery window.

I was trying to meet the UPS guy before he started dragging all the boxes over to my house, but he decided to come up to the side door before I intercepted him.

I saw that the boxes were addressed to us, and had brought a knife to quickly open the boxes and check what's inside. One quick glance and Vanilla was right! The box was full to the top with some softcover book about Israel.

I said I'd consider keeping one box, but the driver said it's all or none. So I told him none, and apologized that he'd have to shlep them all back down.

Well, there goes my imaginary dream library!

I still have no idea who sent them because I didn't take any of the boxes, I'm assuming Vanilla knows though because it sounds like she got the same shipment.

Whoever it was apparently has more money than sense. Pity, had they given a donation instead of probably over $2,000 worth of books I could have really used it...

Why would they send free books to random people who didn't request it?

By the way, there are scams where a company will send their product to random people and then leave 5-star reviews for them self. Perhaps that’s what happened here.

But usually they only send a product or two… not boxes filled to the brim with books. Maybe try looking at the company’s website and if they have a bunch of new reviews from (supposedly) your area, maybe that’s what it is?

Could be something else but I’m really confused

Alan dershewitzs book on Israel had a sign up sheet to receive free copies and they can choose any amount. Apparently a ton of people WHO DID NOT sign up got delivered hundreds of book to their door.
