Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone can tell me where I can find kosher orange blossom water/
rose water for pastries? (Preferably in Israel or in Europe).
Also does anyone know of any brands with proper hechsher?

Separately, any recommendation for bakeries in Israel (preferably
in Jerusalem) where I can find good sephardic pastries (like
maamoul, kaak, biscochos, kataiffi)?

I don't know where to get ingredients in the UK, but you could try online:

In France you'll find plenty of rose and orange water blossom in Jewish shops (19th, Créteil, Sarcelles...) or unhechshered from the list in any big mall.

Mommish, thanks for the link.

Ruchel, I only know of a couple of kosher grocery shops on 19eme.
What would be the biggest one--I usually check the ones on Rue Manin
(Hyper cacher or the one across the street). Love their cheese and
cold cut selection and wine (thank goodness there's no restriction on
carrying liquid items on Eurostar).

The trouble is, I thought you do need hechsher on orange/rose water.
Or was I mistaken?

If the national/local beth din allows a product (e.g. on the list) it does not necessarily need a stamp.

ditto chocoholic.

Mrs Bissli, if you're looking for very very Sefardic things, in suburbs like Créteil or Sarcelles it could be easier to find. 19th is rather "Ashkenazied" due to Litvish influence, and a huge Ashk. shul (Mishkenot Israel) being around.

you don't need a hechsher for orange blossom water. you can buy it in any big supermarket. I think they usually put it near almonds.......
