My son doubled his birth weight at 3 months. Just curious, when did your baby double the birth weight?

My son doubled his birth weight at approx. 9-10 months, my daughter at about 11 months, they were both born in the 9 lb. range though.

according to american pediatrics children should double by six months and triple at one year. (minimum)

Not all kids will gain weight at the same pace. My babies were born big. If they tripled their weight by a year they would have been close to 30 lbs. They were both exactly 20 lbs. at a year (and perfectly healthy).

Depends on their birth weight and rate of growth though. Not all 9 lbs. babies are meant to be 27 lbs at a year.
