Its not accurate. I know exactly how much homes are going for on my block and there is no way they are in the price range of zillow.com

I think the site needs a major updating !

The house we would own if my husband had agreed to buy it for me is worth about $15 million. For some reason, he thought we can't afford it. LOL

$832K....too bad I just rent the basement... Wink would be nice to own the house! but if it's off 300,000, I guess it's worth over a million...which makes sense for Brooklyn!
my house was built in 1920? I would not have guessed. you sure can find out interesting things online!

Hey my parents house is correct. However they could never sell it for that price because too many houses are for sale in the neighborhood.

it overestimated my mothers house by about $30,000... not bad, but it underestimated my landlord's house by a good $100-$150,000. and both houses are within a mile of each other in brooklyn.

Don't confuse home value with home selling price. I just bought my home two years ago and I got a very good deal. I just had my home reappraised and I was told by my RE broker that I could sell it for 200K more than it was actually appraised for. I could sell my house now for 300K more than I paid for it. But I love my home and would not sell unless I moved out of NY.

those numbers were neither the home value nor the selling price. my mother just sold her home 2 months ago and was on the market looking for a home until a few weeks ago, so we're pretty aware of selling value. those numbers were still way off.

didn't check out the site but the house that I am currently renting which is a side split (2 bedrooms on top of the garage), living/dining room and kitchen and additional bedroom plus finished basement would sell in my area for about $450K. the prices here are skyhigh!

The city estimates what our houses are worth, That is what our property taxes are based on, The value of my home on that site is still higher than the value that the city put on it. I can still sell my home for MUCH more that that site or the city thinks it is worth. I hope the city undervalues my home, saves me on taxes.
