Stop me when this sounds familiar (names have been modernized and obviously story fictionalized))

In the modern day country of Gilboa, the capital of Shiloh is dedicated by King Silas Benjamin, a man who was hand picked by G-d and mentored by Rev. Samuels, to unify a group of loosely unified country into one country.

Meanwhile, a young man by the name of David Shepherd, the youngest of 7 sons, is a new soldier in his older brothers unit of the army. Prince Jack (short for Johnathan) is in charge of another unit and is taken hostage. Private David is moved to go save him, coming up against huge, unbeatable tanks that no one has ever survived called.....you guessed it... Goliaths. He uses a bazooka to blow one up, and save the princes life.

He is thanked grandly by king Silas, who by this time no longer follows G-ds ways. Rev. Samuels tells King Silas that G-d no longer sees him as the king, then the Rev. starts talking a with with David, who he had met once years earlier in a 'chance' meeting. Meanwhile David starts to care for the Kings daughter Michelle (ie, Michol).

Sound at all familiar?

No, of course not. It's a modern interpretation.

That being said, I'm very excited about it. It looks like a fascinating alternate universe.

Me too!

It wasn't bad but I watched it online a few days after it aired and after that I heard the ratings were so dismal that it was not likely to be renewed. I hate getting into a series and then getting stuck high and dry, better not to like it and get hooked in the first place.
