What do you think? I'm not planning to use my toaster oven over Pesach or anything - but the rack is so yichy, even after I cleaned it with Scotch Brite. I for sure don't care if the rack gets discolored, and even if it warps a drop it will probably still fit fine, but maybe it can't handle such intense heat and will just melt? Do you think I should try it?

Yeah, but the point of self-clean is that it kashers everything anyway...

DH just found on google lots of horror stories from people who self-cleaned various things and created disasters, so now it looks like we might stick (hopefully not literally) with the toaster gook...

I was not aware that you could chuck everything and anything into a self clean cycle.

well it would be "kosher" if it is still alive and I would think it would be ...

anything enamel coated would get ruined ... for this reason I purchased a second set of stove grates for exclusive pesach use ...
