DH is going away next week for a whole week, and need some "company". Which DVD have you enjoyed the most? I love drama / tear jerkers / preferably continuous stories ie boxsets. Thanks

Big Love!
It's an HBO series so you can really get into it. I started watching it when DD wouldn't sleep at night unless she was nursing and it really got me through that difficult stage.
Good Luck.

I second Big Love, the writing is great and so is the acting.
Other series:
Entourage
Dead Like Me
Six Feet Under
Battlestar Galactica

Oh gosh... Holocaust movies never leave my head so I can't watch them without weeks of disturbed thoughts and dreams... but if they don't affect you so strongly, there's Sophie's Choice, Schindler's List, Life is Beautiful...
But, what about less intense themes... ET? The Stepmother. Forrest Gump. Steel Magnolias. Beaches. October Sky. Fried Green Tomatoes. Ghost.
Here's a link to an Amazon listmania for sad movies that might help you out: http://www.amazon.com/The-Best.....D23LV

Main reason I am asking you over here, is because I need the most "kosher" ones, as in not too much bad stuff.

yeah... a bit... I have the entire I Love Lucy on DVD and next on my list to get is all the Little House episodes. My boys like Leave It To Beaver, so I'd like to get those too, one day.
I love these old shows and I feel OK having my kids seeing them too. I also like to see things in smaller time chunks than a movie, so the TV shows on DVD work really well.

Prince charming and fifty first dates were nice. Romantic, but touched my heartstrings as well.

I also liked 27 dresses, for a tearjerker the boy in the stripped pajamas.

What's Prince Charming? Is it recent? I've never heard of it.

Its a made for tv movie. I have to admit that there are a few not so kosher scenes in the beginning, but I dont think its rated a bad rating or anything close. After the first 10 minutes absolutely nothing inappropriate.

I don't watch anything at all generally. my dh convinced me to start watching 24 with him last week & found me a site to watch all the back episodes online for free. I've watched a couple & it's really good quality.
