I have been shopping with my teen dd for a bathing suit (or 2) for the summer. She is about a lady's size 8 or 10. Everything is either "too sporty" or too "old ladyish" -- she needs a one piece only, refuses black and wants something which looks "normal". I have taken her to Target. Macy's, Modell's and Kohl's, and she did not even find anything she wants to try on. I am at the end of my rope, here, and she does need them for camp. Oh, and I can't afford anything really expensive, so price is an issue. I'm willing to go to the Jewish stores in Brooklyn, assuming the above paramaters of one piece, not black, normal looking and not overly expensive can be met. TIA

I like looking online, although I'm not sure of the pricing. www.llbean.com is a very reputable company with a catalog with lots of options for bathing suits, as well as other items. I got their charge card and all shipping including returns is completely free, so you could order a number of styles and sizes and return whatever doesn't work. shipping is fast too. also my experience with a target bathing suit is it barely lasts a season, stretching out after chlorine, washing, etc. llbean would last many seasons, which as a teenager might work, in case that helps with the price
best of luck.

If she's willing to look online, try here:

For stores, try Sports Authority or Syms (usually has a big selection of one-piece suits). There's a Speedo store in Manhattan.

Saposh has a smallish selection. And while they have good quality, they are also pretty expensive.
