Hey guys I pmed yael to request a topic under "As a mother" entitled Special needs Children. I thought it would be helpful for anyone who has questions or needs advice on parenting a special need child. IF you feel the Same PLEASE PM HER!!!

Amother, I leave it to others to decide if this is really the right forum for it; for me for the most part it isn't. I do myself moderate a listserv for frum women with special needs children called SpecialFrumMoms, where everyone with whom you'd be conversing would understand. Here I find too often people who totally don't understand what it's like to have a special needs child within the frum community shoot their mouths (well, typing) off with hurtful or dismissive comments. But that's just my experience.

bravo elise u couldnt have said it better. some pple think that speical needs kids dont exist in the jewish com. and that these kids should have their own schools etc. some dont even want to understand these children. it can even be the child just needs a bit of help in school but the way the schools carry on. ooh we only cater to the top kids who get 100% on every test. all the other kids, who cares what will happen to them. we dont have the time and money to invest our energies in them!!!!!!!!!!
I know I am a bit scarstaic but some wacky comments from some pple on this website did that to me!!!
