I think there is potential. Maybe check out some voice lessons. I personally know someone whos broinlaw is a pretty famous singer and she told me that she can hear such a difference between his pre-voice lesson stuff and now. goodluck!
He has potential, but has to take voice lessons. He has to learn the correct breathing techniques , to sing breathing from his stomach and not to strain his voice.
so I searched for a capella on utube to compare and this is the only thing I found comparable.
I don't think this is so great either maybe we just don't like songs without music - OP can you have the guy do this one? then we can have a good comparison.
Ditto to the voice lessons and breathing techiniques. The song should sound smooth as possible to the listener.
Personally, I haven't listened to any of the latest singers that have come out in the past ten years because they all sound squeaky to me. I like deep voices singing, the other get me all nervous and jittery. So I'd prefer to listen to the OP's guy singing (after he learns to breathe properly) than the others.
OP here-
thanks!
he knows that his breathing was off- he asked me if anyone would notice and I said no
I guess you guys are more proffesional than I think!
he actually is not straining his voice at all-
interesting to hear benny as comparison- a few notes he sings are off- I guess its hard even for pro's to sing without music.
I'll have him do the same song and post it.
yes hes great at chazzones- but its a dying art - not much $$ comes in from it. So were wondering if he should branch out a bit. thanks.
His singing was not fluid. it didn't flow. It was trying too hard. Sorry to be so blunt. I think his voice is beautiful but for chazanos, when the voice should be strong. Entertaining singing should be more gentle and melodious.
he has a really powerful voice. I would like to hear him do chazzonus- because it seems like he has too much power for singing.
its like using a bulldozer to dig a hole for a flower.
he has too much power. amazing voice tho- lets hear the chazzanus.
he has an amazing voice, I personal love music and enjoy a good song! and as someone mentioned the audience nowadays go for the more squeeky kind of young voices, I like his deep voice! one comment that hasnt been said is (I may be wrong) he sings a bit behind his nose, if u know what I mean! like as if a cold is coming up! but he definitly has potential there,
if he becomes a chazen, tell me, I would love to go to his shul to daven...
and a cd is not really a question if he should make it or not!! he has to make it, he owes the world a good cd with that voice!!!
im his first official fan
I checked out the other videos that he posted. I liked the niggunim, it sounded really nice. he could use voice lessons. when he went high. it wasn't so smooth. it sounded nice when I played two clips together. I wounder how he would sound in a studio.
if the video makes you dizzy scroll down the page while you listen
