Last night I made mushroom barley soup for shabbos. I took it off the stove at 10 pm and left it on the counter to cool. At 5:30 this morning I woke up and suddenly remembered that I had forgotten to put it in the fridge- and quickly ran and put it back in. Is the soup okay to eat still???

It does seem epidemic today.

If there's no meat in it, I'd boil it for a few minutes, then use it.

see and I think if you bring it to a boil - it'll kill any bacteria ... even with the meat ...

The soup should be fine!! A lot of people leave soup out to cool for that long.

if it was uncovered I would recommend you DONT serve it. There are mazikim at night that damage uncovered foods... my husband is very makpid on that, so based on that I wouldnt serve it, but on the bacteria side, it should be fine

I second eating it if it was covered. I would toss it if it were not. And if it had meat in it I would toss it regardless.

It really depends on room temperature. It should be ok if it's cool, like 15-18C.
But I won't take chance if the temp is above 20-22C.
