All my friends have a lot of kids and some have married kids and grand children, too, so years back I stopped going around.

However, my neighbors always gave me.........but not this year; this is the first year I didn't get anything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Did you prepare any to give out? Why not go and deliver them - and get one in return.

I’m the one at home, in case people come………long story short, no one came until right before the Seudah.

Maybe someone who’s going out will deliver for me? Should I ask DH or DD? You'd think they'd know enough to offer, since I'm at home for them, obviously.........

You don't have to stay home: people would just leave yours by the door.

We left nearly all of our shaloch manos at people's doors.

Too bad, because I actually dressed up, and hardly anybody saw my costume!

not sure why you and dh don't give any mm together? and if your daughter or spouse go out, don't you assign them who to go to for you/the family?

either way, I feel for you. hope you still had a good purim.

Hey,
when I was in high school this happened to to my mother, the next day I spoke to my principal in school about it and began to cry bc I was so hurt for her... I really felt that she was lonely, and this caused me allot of pain. when I say lonely, I do not mean that she never went out or never spoke on the phone etc. to the contrary- she was very involved in different projects... however I truly think she does not have any true friends....
I think part of me resolved then and there to not let something like that happen to me... Today, I constantly try to have an open home, be there for those who need me and in general keep my heart open to love others and be open to them... Although I must tell you that one of my fears is to be or feel alone. Im sorry if Im letting out to much, maybe some weird fluke happened to you but perhaps you must give more in order to get. Im really sorry if I am speaking to bluntly, your post struck some place deep in my heart. I truly encourage you to try and be the one who is more giving to others rather than waiting for people to come to you. Please forgive me if I misunderstood anything or if I have hurt your feelings......

Maybe your neighbours are sad that SarahG didn't remember them...
Next year you should give at least one for the mitzva (maybe you did but davka they didn't return MM)

Oh, I gave..........I always prepare part of the seudah for my neighbor and bring part of the seudah where we eat.

I send to my landlady and whoever comes to the door, I get to give back to them.

Guess I got to give 'em to get 'em!

yes its a good idea for u to give if u want to get.

also, if u want your kids to give it out for u, you should tell them and not wait for them to offer. People, no matter who they are dont read minds Exclamation If we expect less, we are not let down, and what we do want, we need to communicate..... sorry, iynh next year ull give and get...

It's just that all my friends are so busy with their kids and grandkids! That's pretty much why I stopped giving! I felt like a burden!

What do you do about people who kvetch that "they're a slave all day to the M.M"!

Sister, thanks, I appreciate it.

just listen and understand that thats how they feel... doesn't mean YOU have to feel that way.... u can say ure opinion of it, that u like it... (if u do...) everyone is entitled to their own feelings for things...
